PAYMENTS AND SUBSIDIES TO LOCAL BODIES (RETURN OF).

Return to an Order of the House of Representatives, dated 10th November, 1887. Ordered, " That a return bo laid before this House showing the districts affected by—(l) The repeal of the Crown and Native Lands Rating Act; (2) the discontinuance of subsidies on local rates ; and (3) the discontinuance of subsidies for the maintenance of main roads: such return to show the amount of saving in each case, and upon whom will fall the burden thus taken from the colonial exchequer."—(Mr. O'Conob.)
