.August 11. The Canterbury Saleyards Company declared a dividend of E> per ceijt for the half-year. The libel action, Napier. Bell versus Rangiora Standard, is fixed for the October sittings of the Supreme Court. The Junofcion Hotel at Rangiora has been sold for £8500. Another party of men leave for the Okarito goldflelds to-day. Other parties are in course of formation. At the ft.M. Court to-day, a boy named John Denham was sentenced to 48 hours' imprisonment and 18 strokeß with a cat-o'-nine-tails, for stealing a money-bag containing fourpence, the property of the Railway Pepartmoqt. Archibald Wilson, charged on the information of the District Engineer tvith the larceny of £247 belonging to the Government, was remanded till Friday.
