Tne verdict, at the Inquest on McSweeuey vyas that death resulted from heart failure due to a dilated heart, acute delirium, and scurvy due to exhaustion by prolonged abstention from food. MOURNING IN CORK. A FEELING OF BROODING DISASTER. LONDON, Oct. 20. Though there is no outward sign of trouble, Coi’k reports declare that a feeling of brooding- disaster exists. Police and military precautions are extensive.
There is widespread mourning in Cork. Public bodies adjourned, and: amusements are shut. A bodyguard, of volunteers propose to proceed to England to escort the remains. The Catholic Bishop of Southwark will hold Requiem Mass. The body lies in'state. The public arc to he permitted to view the body if order is guaranteed.
THE DUBLIN RAID
LONDON, Oct, 25.
The Dublin raid was attended by extreme -precautions.. Streets in the vicinity ..were blocked with barbed wire entanglements guarded by troops and armoured • cars.
THREE POLICE KILLED.
LONDON, Oct. 25
Three police .were Rilled in an ambush at Grange. Sligo. Three were dangerously wounded, and three are missing. , • j. •
ANOTHER HUNGER-STRIKER DIES. LONDON, Oct. 26. Joseph Murphy, after hunger-striking for seventy-lve days, died in Cork prison. \ a POLICE RAID A BANK.
IMPORTANT DOCUMENT FOUND.
LONDON, Oct. 27.
While raiding the Munster and Leinster Bank in Dublin, the military discovered' several accounts relating to the funds of the Irish Republic. The authorities confiscated many thousands, representing the Republic’s balance. The action is considered to he disastrous' for Sinn Fein,
