BENZINE VESSEL BURNED.
WRECKAGE COMES ASHORE. NO WORD OP THE CREW. HOBART, Sept. 24. A radio message from King Island, at the western entrance ito Bass Strait, reports that a quantity of wreckage came ashore, apparently from a vessel burned, supposed to be the barqucntine Southern Cross, en route to Hobart, whose deck cargo included a ifhousand cases of benzine. The message makes no mention of the crew numbering 12, including Captain Hodgman. Received 1-55 a.m. HOBART, This Day.
