ROSS SEA WHALING LICENCES TWO SHIPS WITHOUT PERMITS Press Association WELLINGTON, Wednesday. The Legislative Council met at 2.30 p.m. today. Sir James Allen (Otago) asked whether tho Government was aware of any fishing for whales in Ross Sea without a licence, and, if so, would the Government indicate the name of the ship and the nationality. The Deputy-Leader, the Hon. R. Masters, replied that the Government was aware of unlicensed floating factories which were operating. They were both Norwegian, the names being Neilsen Alonso and Kosmos. The Rent Restriction Continuance Bill was received from the House of Representatives and read a first time. The Council adjourned until 2.30 p.m. tomorrow.
