The following replies have been received:— Mr. T. Bloodworth answered all the questions of the Alliance in the affirmative. He is in favour of a two-issue bal-lot-paper, with a simple majority vote, and of the maintenance of the pact made with the Maoris of the King Country*. He will oppose any extension of time between the polls, or between the carrying of National Prohibition and its coming into operation. He will also oppose any provision for redistribution or increase of licences, or the removal of licences beyond the limits now permitted by law. In addition, Mr. Bloodworth states that he is in favour of preferential voting being used so long as there are three issues on the ballot-paper. Mr. W. P. Endean did not answer the questions, but states:— “I am not in favour of Prohibition. At the same time I would give absolutely fair play to any measure introduced. I favour the two-issue ballotpaper—Continuance or Prohibition, eliminating State Control. Apart from this, I reserve the right to vote ac- , cording to my conscience, in the best interests of the people, on any licensing measure introduced in the House. Mr. A. Donald stated that he would not reply to any questionnaire, but had stated his position from the public platform. We are informed that in answer to questions Mr. Donald, stated that he was in favour of a two-issue ballot-paper, with a. simple majority vote, but with an extension of time between the polls to six years.
