RAIDS BY POLICE

CHARGES OF ALLEGED BETTING RELEASED ON BAIL As a result of two raids by detectives at midday today, two men were arrested on charges of keeping common gaming-houses. The first man arrested was Alfred Harold Griffiths, aged 37, who was charged with using premises in Domin ion Road as a common gaming-house. The detectives then visited 211 Eden Terrace, and arrested Francis Augustine Bolton on a similar charge. Both men appeared before Mr. Fenwick. J.P., at 10 o'clock and were released on bail of £IOO each to appear in the Police Court on Monday morning. The arrests were made by Detectivesergeant McHugh and Detective N'alder.
