FAREWELL PERFORMANCE
“WHOOPEE” COMPANY LEAVES The farewell performance of the J. C. Williamson Company with Miss Lilian Crisp in the lead was given at His Majesty’s Theatre last evening before a large and appreciative audience. “The Student Prince,” the well-known musical comedy, was presented. At the fall of the last curtain Miss Crisp and several of the actresses of the company received wefll-earned bouquets, while streamers were thrown from the house to the stage during the playing of the last chorus. In a smart little speech Miss Crisp thanked the audiences for their attendance, but hoped that the next time she played in this city better weather would prevail so that she could see the beauty of Auckland. Lee Tracy, who lias just returned to Hollywood from a road tour in the stage play, “The Front Page,” has been assigned to a leading role in an original story by George Brooks and Frank Gay, entitled “On the Level,” Tracy will play the part of a concessionaire at an amusement pier. Mae Clarke, who played with Tracy in the Fox Movietone, all-talking, singing and dancing production, “Big Time,” will have the leading feminine role.
