CYCLE RACE MEETING OPPERMAN IN SOUTH , Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. P. O'Shea (New Zealand) beat H. Opperman (Australia) in the final cycle race over five miles last evening at the English Park Stadium. The Australian made several attempts to shake off his opponent, but O’Shea led into the straight and won by a bare length in 10m 39s after a wonderful race. Opperman won the five miles invitation scratch race, O’Shea being third. Opperman also beat W. T. Weir oyer two distances of five miles, motorpaced.
