SINGING IN OPEN AIR

PLANS FOR SUMMER WINTER FUNDS ALLOCATED Experimeintal open air “community sings” will be held in Auckland during January, at Point Chevalier and Albert Park, according to a decision arrived at recently by the Auckland Community Singing Committee. The necessary permission of the City Council has been secured, and the cooperation of the Transport Board in arranging transport has been promised. A good sum was raised last winter by the collections taken at “sings" In the Strand' Theatre. Owing to the substantial amount allocated to the Mayor’s Earthquake Relief Fund, some of the charities which usually are helped have had to be passed over entirely this year, while others will receive less „than in the past.
