NEW SEISMOLOGIST

RIVER VIEW OBSERVATORY DIRECTOR SYDNEY, Thursday. Father William O’Leary, of Ireland, arrived by the liner Naldera today to take the late Dr. Pigot’s place as director and seismologist at Riverview Observatory. Father O’Leary stated that Australia was looked upon as one of the really important seisraographic stations in the world, and the headquarters at Strasbourg always looked for reports from Riverview, where the instruments were first-class. As Australia was out of the Pacific Coast zone there was no need to fear earthquakes.
