FIRE AT MT. EDEN

LARGE HOUSE DAMAGED A hall and staircase were badlv damaged by fire which broke out in a two-storeyed house of 11 rooms at 18 King’s View Road, Mount Eden, at about 8.30 on Saturday evening. Tho occupants were absent a* the time of the outbreak The Moont Eden Fire Brigade, which was sionmoned by y. neighbour, made a good save. The house is owned by Mr J. W. Jones, of King’s View Road, and consists of three flats, the upstaiiv* one being unoccupied. The other flats were occupied by Mr. C. C. Leys, whose furniture was covered by a policy for £275 in the South British Office, and by Mr. L. Jobson, whose property was not insured. The house was insured for £2,300 in the Liverpool and London and Clobe Insurance Company.
