Annual Ball and Prize Night
Victoria Cruising Club SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION Jefecoat’s Orchestra provided an enjoyable programme of music for the large crowd of dancers who attended the 26th annual ball held by the Victoria Cruising Club in the Manchester Unit:/ Hall last evening. The evening proved a very successful one. Mr. Eliot Davis, vice-patron of the £lub. presented the prizes won during the year. Among those present were: Mrs. Griffiths, wife of the club commodore, who wore a black ring velvet gown. 6 Mrs. Arthur Perkin, wearing leaf-green chiffon. Mrs. J. C. Gibbin, in flame satin and lace. Mrs. White, wearing a lilac beaded georgette frock. Mrs. McNeil, ■wearing black chiffon velvet and silver lace. Mrs. W. Matthews, who was in palest primrose satin enriched with silver lace. Mrs. L. Bartleet, who wore a saracen red chiffon gown. Mrs. D. Peterson, in platinum georgette and lace. Mrs. M. Tolmie, wearing kingfisher blue charmeusc and gold lace. Mrs. R. Lewis, who had chosen black crepe mariette. Mrs. R. J. Couglilan, who was in cedar rose chiffon velvet. Mrs. A. Lewis, wearing a phlox pink crepe de chine frock. Miss Munro, who wore daffodil yellow georgette, embroidered with gold flowers. Miss Mobberley, who was in rose chiffon velvet and gold lace. Miss A. Haynes, wearing cuban orange chiffon velvet. Miss Caldow, who had chosen canton jade flowered taffeta. Miss M. Ryan, whose cyclamen gown was embroidered with sequins. Miss M. Jennings, whose chartreuse green velvet gown was fur-trimmed. Miss D. Bint in turquoise blue yrepe de chine. Miss P. Dennerley, in pastel green taffeta. Miss V. Brown, who wore an ivory lace gown. Miss M. Christian, who was in leafgreen ring velvet. Miss M. Gisby, in rose velvet, relieved with diamente. Miss P. Litherland, wearing black georgette and gold lace. Miss R. Perkin, in rose figured georgette, with a flounced skirt. Miss M. Ryan, who wore a brocaded satin gown. Miss K. Pipe, who was in silver tissue and green chiffon. Miss V. Wilson, wearing a parchment coloured lace frock. Miss M. Yeo, who wore a chenille embossed georgette frock of ivory. Miss J. Colman, who was in pink taffeta and tulle. Miss M. Reed, in a bouffant rose taffeta frock. Miss Lord, in a gros grain taffeta frock of blue and' silver. Miss D. Adams, wearing palest primrose taffeta.
