FAREWELL TO MINISTER
APPOINTMENT TO WAIKATO On the eve of his departure today on a health recruiting trip to Sydney, the Rev, M. Edge, of Te Awamutu, was presented with a sum of money by town and country priests of St. Patrick’s Presbytery. The presentation was made by the Rev. Father Zanna.
Bishop Cleary, who with Bishop Liston was in attendance, paid a striking tribute to the Father Edge’s work, stating that in November next he would complete 25 years’ service in the ministry. He announced Father Edge’s appointment as Vicar Forane of the Waikato, with the title of very reverend dean. The vacancy was caused by the transfer of Dean Brennan, of Parnell, to the deanery of Manukau,
