MINISTER HEARS WAIKATO REQUESTS CAMBRIDGE COURSE VISITED > (From Our Oicn Correspondent) CAMBRIDGE, To-day. The Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. P. A. de la Perrelle, accompanied by Mr. P. J. Kelleher, Assistant Undersecretary of Internal Affairs, and chief inspector of totalisators, also Mr. E. J. Poulton, private secretary, visited Cambridge yesterday afternoon en route from to Frankton. Mr. de la Perrelle was met by Mr. R. Hannon, president of the Cambridge Trotting Club; Mr. W. Jstopford, secretary; and other officials. The Minister inspected the trotting club’s track and buildings, and expressed complete satisfaction al the latest extensive appointments. also the steeplechase course for the Labour Day races. The Minister’s inspection had a twofold purpose—that of seeing the reasons for the application of the trotting club for another day’s permit, and the holding of its annual races on Labour Day by the Waikato Hunt. The Minister promised to give all requests every consideration, and later left for Frankton to connect with the Limited for Wellington. He has travelled over 1,000 miles in the Auckland Province.
