Mr. J. F. Mackley, locomotive engipeer of railways, returned to Auckland this morning after a visit to WellingThe Hon. W. Earnshaw, M.L.C., left Wellington last evening by the Limited after spending a holiday in Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Roberton will return to Auckland on Sunday by the Vorangi. They have been visiting japan and Java. Mr. W. Goodfellow, managing director ~L the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, left for the South last evening on the Limited. Mr. W. J. Gow, chief postmaster, ~nd, will leave next week on a tour of inspection of the offices in his district. Mr. W. Wallace, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, left by the Limited for Wellington last evening. He will attend a meeting of the executive of the Hospital Boards’ Association. Mr. Angus J. Campbell, who is retiring after 40 years’ service with the National Bank of New Zealand, was presented with a suitcase and a case of pipes by the staff of the Dunedin branch. The manager, Mr. P. R. M. Hanna, referred to Mr. Campbell’s sterling qualities and voiced the regret 0 f the staff in losing such an esteemed and capable officer.
