“GRIP OF THE YUKON” “Grip of the Yukon.” a story of romance and murder in the frozen wastes of Alaska, will be shown at the Royal Theatre, Kingsland, this evening. Francis X Bushman and Neil Hamilton are the stars. The story telsl of Farrell O’Neil, who comes to town and pays for his food and liquor with sacks of nuggets. He is surprised in bis cabin by two lost prospectors named Colby MacDonald and Jack Elliott shortly after sending money to his daughter in the States so that she might join him in the spring. They fight and O’Neil is killed, leaving the two partners in possession of th*gold mine. “The Wheel of Chance,” Richard Barthelmess’s latest picture, will also be shown. “DETECTIVES” NOW AT GRAND In “Detectives.” which will be shown | again this evening at the Grand : Theatre, Karl Dane and George K. I Arthur are back again as hotel ' employees. ! The fun starts from the time the ! mysterious Orloff, sinister criminal, invades the hotel and the two heroes get on his trail. They blunder into dangers galore—are trapped in a subterranean cavern with grim mummies to keep them company: they plunge through secret trapdoors; Dane disguises himself as a mummy. Arthur emulates Julian El tinge and masquurades as a girl, and Marceline Day, tli** heroine, almost has her brain operated on to destroy her memory in the fast and furious fun.

The plot itself is a mystery story played straight,” with the comedy taking the form of Dane and Arthur blundering into its thrills.

“We Americans,” the successful New York stage play by Milton Herbert Gropper and Max Siegel, has been made into one of the finest motion pictures of the year, and will open under the title of “Heart of a Nation.” The cast includes George Sidney, Patsy Ruth Miller, George Lewis, Eddie Phillips. Beryl Mercer, John Boles. Albert Gran, Michael Visaroff, Kathlyn Williams and others. It was directed by Edward Sloman.
