Learned Judge Once a Striker

“I once took part in a strike," announced Mr. Justsice Frazer to a meeting of justices of the peace Isst evening.

The confession was accompanied by a suggestion that he had been chosen as president of the Arbitration Court for that reason!

His Honour explained that the boys of the George Street school, Dunedin, had followed the example set bp the maritime strike of 1890, and had gone on strike, refus-

ing to attend

school until home lessons were abolished. The attempt failed, and the strikers, among whom teas young Frazer, aged 10 years, returned disconsolately to school.
