KING COUNTRY BILLIARDS
CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES (From Our Own Correspondent) TAUMARUNUI, Thursday. Good play is being witnessed in the series of billiards matches for the King Country Amateur Championship, being held at Taumarunui. In the first round C. A. Stevenson defeated L. Dabb after a willing contest, and in the second round C. McLay played and defeated H. Chase by 501 to 317. The third round, in which Stevenson and W. Robson met, caused a great deal of interest, and resulted in a win for the former by 500 to 295. Keither man showed his best form, and Robson was decidedly “off.” The tourney is being continued.
