Chief-Detective Hammond said that accused, an able-bodied single man, was living on charity. A Salvation Army officer said he was prepared to care for Clouston for a month until he got a start. Accused was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence any time within 12 months. He was also ordered to make restitution.
