WELFARE LEAGUE MEETS A meeting of the Papatoetoe Ratepayers’ "Welfare League was held on Wednesday evening, when Mr. J. Browne presided over a fair attendance of members. The secretary was instructed to communicate with the Town Board requesting it to call a public meeting pertaining to the proposed water supply, and also the advisability of the extension of the area of the district, either by the formation of a borough or otherwise. It was also decided that the attention of the board be drawn to the need for further lighting in the business area of the town, and on the western side of the railway bridge, at the junction of Wyllie and Station Road West.
