Weighty Problem

When Rarakau contested the Auckland Handicap, one mile and a-quarier, at the Pakuranga meeting five weeks ago, she was noticed finishng on in fourth place behind Takurunga, War Officer and Captain Cobham, each of whom carried nine stone, while Rarakau gave away nine pounds to each of that trio. More recently Rarajtau wa unplaced at Marton. In the Swanson Handicap to-morrow decided over a mile, Rarakau meets Takurunga and War Officer respectively on 161 b and 101 b better terms. Captain Cobham is not engaged. It will be interesting to see if the difference in weight will prove to Rarakau’s advantage. On paper she seems to have a good chance.
