In addition to this week’s rides at the Grand National meeting, Henderson was associated with the brilliant Beau Cavalier in his successes in the Great Northern and Wellington Steeplechases, and the two cross-country events et Te Rapa about four months ago. In winning fees alone in these five races Henderson received the tidy sum of £320 6s. Over bad ground and formidable fences, this money was well earned.
