LISTENERS’ LEAGUE AND MR. PRENTICE
NEGOTIATIONS USELESS The first executive meeting of the Auckland Listeners’ League was held last evening. Many matters of importance were discussed. The policy of the league is to be submitted to the other listeners’ leagues throughout the Dominion to ensure a solid front. It is then to be submitted to the league members at a public meeting which is to be held in the near future. The executive attempted to negotiate with the Broadcasting Company concerning the resignation of Mr. J. M. Prentice, but was informed by the company that no useful purpose could be served b r such negotiations. The treasurer reported that the number of financial members was 322, and many applications were yet to be returned. With the advent of similar leagues throughout the Dominion a useful purpose would have been served.
