THE BEEF TRUST.

CATTLE KING’S OPINION. United Preßß Association.-r t By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. J Received Jane 8, 10,85 a.m. Melbourne, Jane 8. Mr Arthur Kidman, the well&nown cattle king, states that when in London last October he talked over with Armours the question of extending the Beef Trust to Australia. The idea, however, was poohpoohed and may still be poohpoohed. In Mr Kidman’s opinion it is ridiculous nonsense to condemn the Trust. It would be a good thing if. the , Trust did make purchases of meat in Australia, for that is all it would do. There is however no prospect of its extendi eg operations to Australia.
