LICENSING INQUIRY.

The scope of the Commission on the Ohinemnri Licensing.case is now available. The Commission to Judge Sim says that whereas it has been alleged that in connection with an application made to Ohinemnri Licensing Committee in June, 1900, £y Maurice Qoggan Power for the grant of a license >t ’jWaihi, money was paid to several mem bars of the committee as bribes to support the application, Judge Sim is appointed a Commission to inquire into ;the allegation, and as to the necessity or expediency of legislation. £he report has to be famished to the Governor on 30th of this month. Judge Sips is not technically Judge of the Supreme Court, and in order to give him the full powers of a Supreme Court Judge sitting as a commission he has been appointed a temporary Jndge of the Supreme Court.
