POLISHING FURNITURE. The method of polishing furniture, keeping ife in good condition, with a new appearance, is not [so generally understood as it should be. To improve the appearance of any furniture, take a soft sponge, wet with clean cold water, and wash over the article; Jthen take a soft chamois skin and wipe clean; dry skin as well as you can by wringing it in your hands, and wipe the water off the furniture, being careful to; wipe only one way. Never use a dry chamois on varnish work. In deeply carved work the dost cannot be removed with a sponge; use a stiff haired paint brush instead. When clean and dry, give a thin coating of TAN-OL (use the liquid Tan-ol in the Is tins) and polish with a velvet pad |or cloth. Be careful that no dust*or grit settles on the furniture or pad during the operation, thus causing scratches or marks.
