HUNTERVILLE.
From Our Own Correspondent.
The funeral of the, late Mrs Archibald Henderson took place [last Friday at the Eangatira Cemetery, the Rev. Blackburns officiating. Some ninety followed to show their respect. The sports meeting to take place on the 3rd pros, promises to be a success, though, I think, _ the prize money might have been judiciously added to, so as to ensure it being more than a merely local affair. I regret to have to report the death of Mrs Upchurch, who died on Sunday. The deceased is being buried in Wellington. Every sympathy is felt for Mr Upchurch and the young family. One now.and again Lears of the hat trick at cricket, the same being unusual enough to deserve on occasions the cost of cabling the world over, but one rarely hears of three marriages taking place in the one household in one month. However, such has happened in the neighbourhood.
I understand that our member does not intend to resign except at his own time, which will be at the expriration of the present Parliament; so that barring accidents and our notoriously frail tenure of this present life, we can look forward to his occupying his present position for the next three years.
