STOCK REPORT. Messrs Abraham’ & Williams report: At Palmerston North to-day a good yarding of all classes of stock was offered. The attendance of buyers was large and competition throughout the sale was keen, every lot being disposed of at satisfactory prices. Quotations Sheep.—Four tooth ewes 12s 3d, agedstoro ewes ss, aged ewes and small lambs (all counted) 4s 6d, rape lambs 10s sd. Cattle. —Light fat bullocks £6 17s 6d, forward bullocks £6 Bs, 3 and Z)4 year bullocks £5 Is, 3 year steers £3 Bs, 18 mouths steers £3 9s 6d to £3 14s, yearling steers 375, fat Cows £4 to £5 Is, forward cow's £3 16s to £3, forward empty heifers £3 3s to £3 Bs, 2 year empty heifers £2 9s 6d, yearling heifers 30s, balls £3 10s to £4 2s 6d. Loan & Mercantile report; At Palmerston on Thursd&y small entries came forward and good demand existed for both sheep and cattle. We quote : Store cows £2 9s to £3 11s, forward cows £3 16s, cows and calves £3 12s, cows in milk £3, springing heifers £5 10s. Messrs Dalgety & Co,, Ltd., report on their Palmerston North sale yesterday Wo had a small entry of sheep and a medium entry of cattle, all of them with a ready demand and all sold at auction with the exception of two pens. AUCKLAND WOOL SALES. Per Press Association. Auckland, January 7. The second wool sale of the Auckland wool season will open on Wednesday, when a catalogue of 6600 bales will be submitted for competition. This is the largest catalogue ever offered m Auckland, and is an increase of no less than 1445 bales on the January sale of lass year.
