The ground was a shade slippery for the above representative match played at Palmerston on Saturday. The idea generally prevailed that Manawatn had a somewhat easy problem to solve. No doubt the fact that only quite recently Horowhenua succumbed to Rangitikei to tbe tune of 23 to nil was. to a large extent, responsible for the feeling. As the unexpected often happens Horowhenua players were emphatically masters of the situation by 10 points (two converted tries kicked by Parata) to three (an unconverted try).
