FEILDING MUSEUM.
A public meeting was held at Feilding last night. Mr J. B. Trewiu, the Mayor, in the chair. There were present—Messrs Cobbe, Goodhehere, Williamson, Diamond, Mills, Montgomery, K. A. S. Brown, L. T. Brown and Dr. Johnstone, and one lady. . It was resolved on the motion ox Mr Mills to establish a museum and request the Borough Council to take over the control of the institution. Those present were appointed a committee to organise the institution and Messrs Mills and R. A. G. Brown, were appointed to wait upon the Borough Council to request the use of the Library room, and to make the Council acquainted with the wishes of the committee. MrR. A. G. Brown brought to the meeting as a first contribution to the museum, a couple of Moa shigh bones, about three feet in length. The bird they belonged to, Dr Johnston thought must have stood about 15 feet high. Mr Mills promised a Fijian canoe.
