THE MINERS' STRIKE.

Per Press Association. Dunedin, May 16. Christie Bros, to-day lodged with the Labour Department £ll 6s 3d to pay expenses incurred and wages of miners for yesterday, subject to the terms of settlement. It is understood that the Mines Department will take legal against Christie’s for alleged breach of the Coal Miner’s Act in refusing to permit the Check Inspection. The Check I igpection takes place this afternoon, and probably work will be resumed on Monday.
