Pef Press Association. . Palmerston N., March 23. The case-of John Baillie v. the Imperial Dry Milk Company was heard before Mr Justice Cooper The claim was for the sum of £5Ol, in respect of work done by plaintiff for defendant, and as compensation in respect to a patent invented by the plaintiff, also loss of tools at defendant’s factory at Bunnythorpe, which was destroyed by five some years ago. Evidence was given by Messrs Baillie, Hoke, and Merritt (for rite plaintiff), and by Messrs T. and D. Nathan (for the defence). Judgment was given for the plaintiff for £lO, and His Honour reserved his decision regarding the matter of costs.
A decree nisi was granted to Mary Ann .Pye, who applied for the dissolution of her marriage with Archibald Robertson Pye, on the ground of desertion, failing to provide for her maintenance, and persistent cruelty. No defence was filed.
Edward Jones (alias Johns) was sentenced to four years’ ; imprisonment with, hard labour for committing an indecent assault on a little girl at Ashhnrst.
