THE SANDON FATALITY.
VERDICT OF ACCIDENTAL DEATH. The adjourned inquest on Lawrence Hatherly Watlers, the victim of the Sandon cycling fatality, was held yesterday before Captain Mowlem, District Coroner.
The medical evidence and that of Edward Hatherley Walters, father of the deceased lad, was taken at the original enquiry, which was adjourned to ontain the evidence of the occupants of the trap with which deceased collided. The evidence given yesterday showed that the deceased and two boj's named Read and Murphy were cycling on the main road, and met a trap without lights. Read and Murphy got safely past the vehicle, but deceased ran straight into the horse, which fell on him, and boy and bicycle had to be dragged from beneath the animal.
Evidence was given by the two lads Read and Murphy, and also by William Yuong and Maria Olliver, occupants of the trap. The jury returned a vredict of accidental death, with a rider to the effect that had lights been burning on the vehicle the accident might not have occurred.
