PERRY’S BIORAMA AND VAUDEVILLE CO.
The above combination appeared in the Opera House, Marton, last night, to a house well filled in every part and to say that the large audience were pleased with the entertainment is putting it very mildly. The pictures were unanimously admitted to be far away ahead of anything yet seen in Marton. The pictures completely filled the stage, a cam only be obtained by the strong Electric Diolight, generated from the compauys’ own dynamo, the motive power for same being obtained from Mr Warren’s traction engine. The machine in use for projecting the pictures is the “Urban” (as used in all the large centres') and it is the only machine of its kind touring. Mr Perry has spared no expense in procuring this machine which gives entire satisfaction, and enables the company’s operator, (Mr Clarence Kershaw) to secure the finest possible results of the film subjects. The collection is the best yet seen in Marton and taking a very wide range, were received most enthusiastically. Amongst those shown last night, “The Message from the Sea,” “Saving the Colours” (a very realistic picture taken from life), “Dont go to Law” (a real side splitter), “Bertie’s Love Affair, 5 “Down on the Farm” and others, humorous and instructing and entertaining, each picture a star film (no fill in subjects). Illustrated ballads, artistically rendered by Miss Eva Brady, were interspersed among the animated displays, and Mr Harry Collins appeared in his coon specialties, being well received “for his new and catchy rag-time melodies. Miss Edna Wallace officiated at the piano, leaving nothing to be desired. Tonight the company appear again, the occasion being a grand complimentary benefit, kindly tendered to the local Fire Brigade. Mr Perry is to be commended for his generous offer, and we predict a bumper house tonight. Tickets can bo obtained from members of the Fire Brigade, or at the Theatre. '
