The Independent Labour representatives at the Stuttgart Conference proposed that the Trades Unions were entitled to membership of the Conference provided they declared in favour of political action in alliance with the socialist parties. Mr ltsimsay MacDonald moved that the matter ha referred to the International Bureau in order to arrange an amicable settlement with the English section.
M. Qaclch declared 'there was no objection to the admission of trade unions if they came irrevocably committed to socialism.
Horr Vaudorveld, President of the International Bureau, agreed to consider the proposal with tho English section. He believed the bureau would be dedelighted to seo tho great English working organisations represented at tho Congress since it would indicate their adhesion to the principles of Socialism. JUL Vollmar, Jaures and Saillant repudiated M. Hervo's ante militarist sentiments.
