$ During the past few days eiglit Cilia ame a have left Otaki en route tor China. Firewood is advertised for sale. A piano, also horse, harness and U'hiele are advertised for sale. A special meeting of the Otaki Borough Council takes place to-night at 7.30. Announcements from candidates lor the Borough election appear in this issue. Messrs Harper and At more. Barristers and solicitors, have money for investment. A euchre party and dance in aid ot the library fund will be held in the Druids’ Hall on Monday, All returned soldiers are invited to join in the Anztic Day procession, which leaves the school at - p.m.
Elsewhere ratepayers are asked to vote for the (Saturday half-holiday, and uphold honour and freedom of the British race.
At a meeting of the shopkeepers held recently it was unanimously decided to tight for the return to Wednesday halfholiday, and 1 beg to ask my customers to support it on polling day.—L.
