VISIT TO OTAKI. The Chairman (Mr J. P. Brandon) of the Otaki Town Board has received the following communications: — Dear Sir, —AVith reference to your enquiry through Captain Talui Rhodes as to whether the Maoris who are proceeding to Rotorua will return to Otaki before His Royal Highness will visit, vour town. I have to advise that this entirely depends upon whether the Railway Department can return them in time. However, Tam making representations on the matter to the General Manager, Railways, and hope it will be possible to meet your wishes. In respect to ihe request that an officer from the Public AVorks Department proceed to Otaki to advise about the building of a platform, this will be arranged. In regard to the districts from which the school children will travel to Otaki to meet the Prince, I will see that you are informed of this in due course. Tours faithfully, F. H. D. BELL. Dear Sir,—With reference to the programme submitted as the result ot tho conference, between Captain Tnliu Rhodes and yourself for His Royal Highness’ reception at Otaki. viz.:— 1. Train to stop opposite main exit of station.

2. His Royal Highness to be received by Chairman of the Town Board. 3. His Royal Highness and party to go to platform immediately outside station.

4. The Chairman to read address of welcome.

5. His Royal Highness to reply. (i. nis Royal Highness to walk through ranks of returned soldiers and school children.

7. Maoris will sing “Welcome” while His Royal Highness inspects returned soldiers and walks through ranks of school children. I have to advise that this is approved. For your information the train conveying His Royal Highness will arrive at. Otaki at 5.10 p.m. and will depart at 5.20 p.m. on Monday, 3rd May. Tours faithfully. F. IT. D. BELL.
