EVACUATION OF GERMANS London, Oct 17 United States troops have arrived in Liberia. A United States representative left Liberia yesterday after extensive discussions with the President, Mr Barclay. The subject of the discussions is not disclosed, but probably (he German Consul-General and staff will be requested to leave Liberia. Other Germans were evacuated in a Vichy plane via the Ivory Coast some weeks ago. It is understood Liberia will shortly announce co-operation with the United Nations.—P.A. ESTIMATED STRENGTH OF FORCE (Rec. 11.10 a.m.) London, Oct. 18 A message from Monrovia state that the American force in Liberi is large. The R.A.F. has establishe a base in Monrovia for anti-U-boa patrols. Berlin radio, quoting a French r« port, said the number of America troops landed in Liberia was esti mated to be about one division.P.A.
