FALL IN DEPOSITS

SYDNEY, 20th January.
The banking abstract of 11 New South Wales trading banks for the quarter ended 31st December showed that deposits continue to fall and totalled £106,000,000. or £1,000,000 less than in the previous quarter. Fixed deposits decreased £1,182,000 to £68,385,000. The total advances to clients on 31st December were £18,500,000 compared with £110,914,808 at the end of the previous quarter.
