NELSON DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB
FOURTH CHAMPIONSHIP SHOOT L. GORE WINS ALP. ROBINSON'S A G G KEG A TE (By “Rifleman”) The Nelson Rifle Club advanced the championship series another step by firing over 200 and 600 yard ranges at YVakapuaka on Saturday last. This shoot was also the last of the series counting for Mr Alf. Robinson’s trophy. The winner proved to be Rifleman L. Gore with a score of 186, including 11 points handicap. The next in order being R. Kenning 185 counting 14 points handicap, and N. Hansen 182 counting 2 handicap. For the championship Rifleman S. Barnett secured highest score, his card reading: 200yds, 5554554445 —46, and at 600yds 5445555535—46—a total of 92, one point off the standard for these two ranges. Rifleman Barnett wins the silver spoon and feathers for the highest score off the rifle, while Rifleman W. Mitchener secures the spoon and feathers for the highest score including handicap—46-44-2—92. The fifth round of the championship series will be fired next Saturday.
