MYSTERY CLEARED UP

AUCKLAND, This Day

The mystery surrounding the disappearance 'of the scow Herald after the vessel sp-uck on Canoe Rock, oil Kawau Island, on 14th July of last year was unexpectedly solved when the Herald was located" in deep water by the trawler Thomas Cur.rell. After the mishap the Herald's crew scrambled ashore, to be rescued some hours afterwards by the Tofun, bound from Auckland to toe islands. .Meanwhile the schooner had slipped off the rock and drifted to the eastward. The Thomas Currell's trawl fouled the Herald in deep water, and a portion of it was brought to the surface.
