THE P. S. LYTTELTON.
A notice of the trial trip of thia well known steamer was crowded oat of oar columns yesterday. A 1 ? i 3 generally known, Mr George Harper some months ago purchased this boat from the trustees in the late Mr Symons's estate, and sbe has since then been undergoing a complete overhaul and refit tiDg at the hands of Mr Brown, of the Anchor foundry, under the inspection of Mr Levestam. The repairs having been completed invitations were issued to a large number of townspeople to assemble on board on Saturday afternoon, when they were most hospitably entertained by the owner, the merry popping of champagne corks forming a lively accompaniment to the tbcd of the eDgines as the Dew old boat steamed round the harbor An alteratioQ in tho rudder, the invention, we believe, of Mr Levestam, proved very successful, and under its influence the ves3c"l answered htr helm very readily. It is stated that the LytteJtoa is to he put into the Blenheim trade for which Bhe is peculiarly well adapted.
