v , , Brisbane, Tuesday. -.News has been received here reporting that attacks have recently been made by the natives in strong force upo'i the fishing stations at Flinders Island and Knight Island near ttie coast to the north of Cape Melville' At the former place, the natives were complete.}* repulsed, but the station of Kn.Vht's Island was partially destroyed. a D d firearms and rations were carried oi?. It is feared that ■vi rs Watson, wife of one of the owners of the bechesle-mer fishing station ou Lizard Island, has been murdered by the natives who, it is believed attacked and plundered this station on the 2Gth uit, and carried off Mrs \\ atson and her children during the absence of her husband and his partner Search parties, which were despatched from Cooktown to examine the neighbourhood of the islands, have not as yet found any traces cr them.
