x JMPORTAWT CONSIDERATIONS. ■ — o ... 'In the home circle, when the bread-winner has returned from his daily business ; when the work of the household is over, save only tfor her, the wife, sister, or daughter sits down to her sewing. Stooping forward over her work: her eyes, even though unconsciously, are strained in following the hand-needle as slowly and laboriously she stitches the Beams, and hems, *,nd bands, that have previously been folded by her fingers. The head is bent .downwards, the posture of the. arm is m.ore or less constrained, and little channe of position is admissible until the sewing be laid aside. And, after all, the product of her labor is so little, bo very little, for the patience and time expended upon it. Xefc the house linen demands attention, and new garments are ever needed. Every member of the family, and the furnishings of the home itself ceaselessly require the service of the busy needle, so that by her unaided fingers the housewife cannot hope to overtake her work. Not seldom she stitches until her eyes are weary, till her spine and her fingers ache, yet she is compelled to leave some work undone. She must purchase ready-made articles at the shops inferior toL' and more expensive than those which ehe might produce herself, bad she only the first requisite of a household, namely a good SEWING MACHINE.' > B>B * Hllag>lK ~*O* aKnM ww^ The Wertheim supplies this requirement, and may be had in various pat-; terns from £3 15s. upwards. o ■■ .
