Sydney, Wednesday. A carpenter who has lately been working at a house in Lower George-street opposite the residence of On Chong, a Chinese merchant, whose child lies been suffering from small pox, has caught the disease, lie resides with fourteen oilier persons in a houss at Surrey Hills. The bouse has been quarantined by the policp, and tho neighbors are leaving the locality. . Thursday. Another European ha 9 been attacked with small pox. The suffertr resides in Cumber-land-street some little distance from the scene of the first, outbreak at the residence of On Chong io George-street. Alarm throughout the neighborhood and the city generally is increasing Mur-nocRNB, Wednesday. In the Assembly to day the debate on Sir Biyan O'Loughlen's motion tbat the Reform Bill should be again referred to a Committee of the two Houses was resumed. In the coime ot the afternoon and evening Beveral speakers addressed the House in favor of the motion. The debate still continues at 10-30 p m. Thursday. In (be legislative Assembly last night Mr Iliimsay, on behalf of the Opposition, annouxced that tho Legislative Council was prepared to reduce the candidates' qualification to bs pjovided by the Reform Bill to £100, nnd to withdraw its demand for two Ministers ia the Council. It was also willing that elections of members to the Council should take place on one day in order to prevent plural voting. Mr Ramsay in his speech following this intimation strongly urged the Government to agree to another joint conference of Committees of the two Houses to agree, if possible, to a compromise iv regard to the Bill Finally Mr Berry stated his acceptance of the proposal, despite the protests by several of his eupportero and members of the Corner Party. The Committee of the Assembly will comprise Messrs Berry, Vale, Nimino, Ball, Ramsay, and Wrixon, and Sir Bryon O'Loughlen. It is expected that a favorable result will be arrived at by the Conference.
