NELSON LAND BOARD.
The Land Board met yesterday. Present, Commissioners flarnicoat. lterr, tTastney, and Chief Commiaßoner Greenfield. A prospecting license for minerals other than gold for ,640 acres m the Aniseed "Valley, was granted to T. R. Hacket for six months, beiDg land previously beld by him under licence No. 49. The following licenses were also renewed for six months:— T. R., Hacker, license No. 50, Aniteed Valley, 2SO acres > Ditto, No. 90, Croixelles, 120 acres; Hacket and Cotterell, No. 07, Wairoa, 200 acres ; T. R. Hackelt, No. 99, Aniseed Valley* 120 acres ; Ditto, No. 101, Matingatapu, 60 acres; Hacket and Roberts, No. 08, Wairoa, 120 acres ; F. W. Irvine, No. 104, Maungatapu, 490 acres; J. W. Tatton, No. 102, Wangamoa, 100 acres; Ditto, No. 107j Wakapuaka, 195 acrea. Occupation License Cancelled.— Resolved, That the occupation license granted to A. G. Stratford and C E. Stratford for 3000 acres m Aniseed Valley be cancelled for nonpayment of rent. Occupation Licenses.— Application from Joseph Darby for a license under Section 149 of the Land. Act 1877 over 50 acres at the east end of Rough Island, Waimea river, was granted at a rental of £3 10s per annum An application waa received- from Messrs Craig 8r.01.. for a lioense to occipy the rnrer just below the junction of the Ahaura and Grey rivers. Resolved, That the decision be postponed nntil the return of the Chief Commissioner from the West Coait. Alteration of Road, Moat ere.— An application was received from Benjamin Smart Allen for a Crown Grant of part of the old road stopped up, lying between Sections IS and 31, Lower Moutere, the land having been promised by the Government m ex change for new road taken through Section 18. Postponed until the next melting of the Board. Reserve for Hospital and Lunatic Asylum Motupipi.— Resolved, That* the vpiet price of the annual rent of leases to be let by auction of parts of Section 155 Motupipi be fixed at five shillings per acre. Mineral Prospecting License. — An application by the Caledonian Extended Quartz Mining Company (limited) for a license over 720 acrea Larry's Creek, Inangahua, wa« considered. Reaolved, That, as the land applied for Appears to have gold mining leaseß within its boundaries, the consideration of the application be postponed until after inquiry by the Chief Commissioner. Mineral Lease under "The Mines Act 1877."— Resolved, That the Board consent to and approve of the granting of the liase of 320 acres at West Wanganui to the West Wanganui Coal Cowpany. Resolved, That Section 1013 town of Reefton be sold to William Colliio (aa per Warden's certificate dated June 10, 1878) nnder Section 1 1 appendix E to •• Land Act 1877 " at the price previously asMaeed. The undermentioned leased lands were acsesaed for sale: Section 77, Square 8, at lOsperaere; Section 47, Square 3, at 10b per acre.
