MAYORAL ELECTIONS.
The following are the results of the contested elections in the principal towns in the colony yesterday:— Dunedin. Ross, 872 ; Fish, 688. There was an immense crowd at the declaration of the poll. Chkistchurch. There was a great deal of excitement over the olection, which resulted thU3 :— -Gapes, 558; Ay era, 430. LfTTKiTOIf. Allwright, 187; Webb, 108. Invekcargill. Johnston, 246 j Hatch, 115} Ringsland, 110> HOKITIKA. Mr Learmouth was returned. Wellington. Hutchison, 56!; Young, 475; Diver, 131; Dwan, 161.
