London, August 4. Mr Gladstone continues to improve. The -cougeßtion of the lungs aDd feverish symptoms have ceased, but he continues very weak. The- cricket match, Australians v. Glouces- ' ter3hire Eleven was resumed to day. Glouccst ter went.in for their second innings and were disposed of for 97 runs, the Australian thus ■winning the match by 68 runs. In the secind innings of the Home team Spofforth took seven wickets. August fi. Sixty-three Liberal peers voted with the majority on the Irish Teuants Compensation Bill in the House of Lords. The homeward nsnils via San Francisco, - which left Auckland on June 22nd, were delivered here yesterday. Mr Gladstone continues to progress well, though slowly. Constantinople, August 5. .
