London, August 3. Mr Gladstone is progressing favorably, and the feverish symj toms are diminishing. T.he match between the Australians and the Gloucester Eleven at Clifton was resumed to-day. The Home team went in and finished their first innings, and were all disposed of for 191. Palmer, for the Australians, took six wickets. The Australians then went in for their second innings, which closed for 246. McDonnell was caught for 79 runs, and Bonner was also cuught for 35. The attendance at the match was large. The fielding of the Home team waa very weak. August 4. In the House of Lords last night the Irish Tenants Compensation Bill, which was sent up from the House of Commons, came under discussion, and, after a debate, the rejection of the Bill was moved and carried by 282 to 51.
